Main Screen

PlaceCam 3 is an IP-based videoconferencing software that combines the best of two worlds: the advantages of the peer-to-peer technology with those of the client server system. This new hybrid technology is a further development of daViKo 3. No costly, intermediate server (MCU) is needed, as PlaceCam 3 uses central Internet servers to distribute data.

PlaceCam 3 can leverage your existing MCU based hardware with its SIP integration.

With PlaceCam 3 you can carry out multipoint videoconferences of up to 40 participants and designate who will be the moderator or who will be a participant. Various functions are available, depending on the participant's status. A contact management system, which saves only confirmed contacts in your home directory, makes work pleasant and secure.

Connect Screen

Using our PlaceCamWeb addin, we can help you create personalized applications for your own website ranging from simple video chat rooms to full fledged video conferencing applications. You wont need external applications like Webex or PCGotoMeeting.

Both Windows and Mac versions are available.

PlaceCam 3 Requirements

The use of PlaceCam 3 places certain requirements on your computer system which are explained in detail below.

• You will need a PC that runs Windows XP, Windows Vista or Windows 7 as the operating system or Mac OS 10.5 or above or Linux Ubuntu.
   
• Your processor's speed should be at least 2.0 GHz.
   
• You will need at least 1024 MB of RAM.
   
• In addition, a sound card with microphone/loudspeaker combination or USB Internet headset is required, a USB camera or a video camera with framegrabber / video capture card or DV via Firewire.
   
• In addition, you will need a display adapter with good 2D acceleration, and a minimum XGA display resolution of at least 1024 x 768 pixels.
   
• For good data transmission, you should have an IP connection (intranet or Internet) with at least 1000 Kbps DOWN and 512 Kbps UP.
